Verena Lobati

Full-time Staff

Verena Lobati (they/them) brings nearly two decades of experience working with children and young people from infancy through adolescence. They hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology and have worked in private schools, early childhood programs, and with individual families. For more than 13 years, Verena specialized in providing individualized care to children and teens with disabilities and complex support needs. This work gave them extensive experience adapting to each young person, supporting emotional regulation, encouraging self-advocacy, and approaching questions of consent and bodily autonomy with care and respect.

Verena was drawn to Miami Sudbury School by the belief that young people deserve meaningful choices—not only in how and what they learn, but also in the environments and relationships that shape their lives. They bring a deeply calm, grounding presence to the school, along with patience, intuition, creativity, and an ability to remain clear-headed in challenging situations.

Having traveled extensively around the world, Verena brings curiosity about different cultures, people, and ways of living. Outside of school, they enjoy cooking and baking, gardening and foraging, writing poetry and comedy sketches, and unwinding with anime or Korean dramas.
