The Miami Sudbury School believes that cutting-edge approaches to learning and growth should be available to every young person and family that desires it. 

As a nonprofit organization, we do all we can to make alternative education accessible to all.

The Miami Sudbury School accepts all Florida School Choice Scholarships. Tuition would be the balance after the scholarship is applied. We suggest that a family apply to both scholarship funding organizations as soon as possible, even before applying to The Miami Sudbury School, as applications can take up to 10 weeks to process. Please see below for more information.

Regular Tuition Fee Schedule for 2022-2023

• Tuition is $12,500 annually
  ​If you and your family are truly excited about self-directed, community-based education for your student, please continue reading as we will always work with families to help them if they have need and commitment! 
  • or tuition amount determined by the balance of tuition after a Florida Scholarship is applied or other tuition offset, as applicable. 
  • Students who join us while the school year is already underway only pay tuition going forward.
  • No year-long binding tuition contracts.​

All Other Fees

• Visiting Week $250 ​per student - scheduled by invitation after a Family Tour and/or Open House visit. This is not necessarily an extra fee as it will be applied as a credit toward Registration.
• Annual Registration Fee is $500 per student* - Due at the time of enrollment and annual re-enrollment.

*The Annual Student Support Registration Fee INCLUDES ALL SCHOOL SUPPLIES for each student.
​NO SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS OR ADDITIONAL BOOK FEES, ETC.

Both organizations Step Up for Students and AAA Scholarship Foundation fund
​School Choice Scholarships

• Income-based Scholarships: If you believe your family's income would qualify for a Step Up for Students Scholarship, we ask your family to apply with either the StepUp for Students Family Empowerment Scholarship - Educational Opportunity (FES-EO) program or the AAA foundation income-based scholarship.
  • ​Note: You will be asked to submit many documents to support your application. See the FAQ for StepUp for a list of documents they may ask for and this sample AAA application for examples of questions and documentation required so you have them ready to upload in the online application. 
• Scholarships based on special needs: ​
  • StepUp for Students Unique Abilities program (FES-UA) - application and information here.
• Scholarships based on other factors: such as documented history of bullying at public school - Hope Scholarship

• If your family has a Florida scholarship, tuition would be the balance of however much regular tuition is not covered by the scholarship.

Limited Reduced Tuition & Financial Aid From The School

• Sibling Tuition Discounts: A 10% discount is given off tuition balance for siblings after any scholarships are applied. If a family qualifies for Financial Assistance from the school, sibling discounts will be applied as possible.
• Financial Assistance:  If your family wishes to apply for additional aid from the school, we ask first that the family apply for a School Choice Scholarship - we use a very similar income guideline to verify need. Financial Aid from the school is available on a limited basis and determined by the submission of a Financial Aid Application. Please discuss eligibility with the school before applying.

Note: ALL TUITION AND FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE BUT THERE ARE NO YEARLONG BINDING CONTRACTS.
