Sept 21st is International Coastal Cleanup day with the Gratitude Community Project, Debris Free Oceans, artist Zac Freeman and The Miami Sudbury School Activities
Debris will be collected to be turned into an art installation with artist Zac Freeman (Work featured below). We will be creating art with young people from 1 pm to 3 pm under the shade (and there may be some live music as well). Event ends at 3:15 pm after pictures! There will also be a raffle to support the nonprofit "Debris-Free Oceans" (More info on flyer below). Arrive Samson Oceanfront Park Beach, 17425 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 (8:30 am to start Clean up by 9 am). Parking is available at the Municipal Lot behind Walgreens (not inside of the Walgreens lot, you will 100% get a ticket there) at 175th street, right across from the Chabad. Lunch 11:30 am to 12:30 pm (you can pack a lunch or there MAY be food available for purchase - TBD by the organizers). The organizers request no single use plastic containers, only reusable water bottles and containers please. We'd like to request participants to bring 3-5 recyclables from home to add to the art installation, in addition to what is collected at the beach.
